Fronts

La-di-da.
It's another 1-2 in the morning piece, which I think is my favourite time to do any type of art. Otherwise, I get annoyed and I think too much. It's basically as ~Linacat said. :3

Atê Alexemia and Soryk Valchion.

I actually really, really love the way Atê came out. It's the first time I've ever drawn her and been happy with it. Big surprise there. And for Soryk being my character, it's a little pathetic that he turns out the way he does.

I used a reference picture for this one. My way of telling myself I can do this or that, and my hands do work properly, as long as I coerce them to. Silly little things.

Anyway, let's get on with symbolism, aye?

Fronts.
Soryk has a ton of these. His original marriage to Ei`riya began as a front. He wanted people to look at it from the outside, define it as perfect, attempt to infiltrate, and see no difference. He doesn't give people clues as to what's going on inside of his head. As a result, he does a lot of looking, watching, listening, observing, and paying attention.

In this respect, it makes Soryk somewhat suspicious, and easily causes others to grow unnerved.

His marriage to Atê? One hundred percent committed and something he wants to do. Not for ulterior motives, but simply because he wants her. He can't very well say that, though, so it's easier for him to pretend there's something more, even if it's as simple as, "My family is traditional, and apparently it's not to marry a man, so I decided to marry you, Atê."

(I swear he's not gay. I swear it. He just has flair. And style.)
